Self-Writing Studio

This is not a writers’ workshop and not a literary association, although we will periodically turn to texts created by poets, writers, philosophers, and playwrights — and we will also write and discuss texts ourselves. However, the goal is not to create a finished literary work.

There will be prompts from the facilitators, dedicated time to work with them, and an opportunity to express your thoughts and experiences through words, to hear yourself and others, and to collectively observe the result of this alchemy — a spontaneous encounter with a blank page and the birth of your own authorial text in a short amount of time.

Anyone is welcome to participate — no writing experience is required.

The organizers draw on international practices, including the French atelier d’écriture, American poetry therapy, and other forms of creative self-expression.

It is important to note that this is not a therapeutic group using writing practices, but like any creative process, the session may have a therapeutic effect.

This time, the meeting will be dedicated to the theme of the New Year.

The format of the session allows each participant to become a co-facilitator and to spread the idea of the “Self-Writing Studio” in different formats.
