Double Screening at Kvira Space:
The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Audience Participation & Shadowcast + Repo! The Genetic Opera

On Saturday, December 13, we invite you to a Science Fiction Double Feature evening.

The program includes a double screening of classic musical camp horror, carnival madness, a costume-sewing coworking session, a costume contest, and queeraoke. Register and join us.

The cult classic of queer, rock’n’roll, and cinephile culture, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The film was so wild and outrageous that audiences could never sit still during screenings.

This led to the spontaneous birth of special screenings with audience participation — events with their own unique rules.

Audience participation means viewers actively engage with the story, finding themselves alongside the characters in the mysterious castle of the sweet vampire transvestite from the planet Transylvania — the villainous Dr. Frank-N-Furter — immersed in a world of colorful madness and burlesque.

Traditionally, these screenings feature a shadowcast — performers who, like shadows, reenact the surreal spectacle unfolding on screen live and lip-sync along. Around the world, many cities host regular shadowcast troupes.

We recently formed a shadowcast troupe at Kvira Space and are excited to entertain you.

Program for Saturday, December 13:

4:00 PM – 6:00 PM — Sewing coworking session. Don’t have a crazy costume ready but have a great idea? Or no ideas at all but want to look fabulous? Come finish your costumes and accessories with Nadya.

6:00 PM – 8:20 PM — The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

8:20 PM – 9:00 PM — Queeraoke

9:00 PM – 10:30 PM — Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008)

The screenings will be in English with Russian subtitles.
