Public lecture: "Childbirth as art"

Who is a doula? The term "doula" originates from ancient Greece and means "woman's servant". Today, doula is a proven, accepted and needed specialty all over the world. A doula offers emotional, physical, and informational support to a woman during pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period. Studies have shown that birthing with a doula increases the positive birth experience, which is so important for the woman, the newborn, and the entire family. CADA (Caucasus-Asia Doula Association) is the first organization that introduced the doula profession to Georgia and the region. At the same time, it gained recognition and full membership of European and American organizations (EDN, DONA International). On May 14, at 13:00, a public lecture on "Childbirth as an Art" will be held in the conference hall of the Caucasus University.

The public lecture will be led by a clinical psychologist, a professional Erikson coach with an international certificate (Canada), a logotherapist with international accreditation (a sense-oriented psychotherapist, Austria), the only logotherapist at the moment in the Caucasus countries and Ukraine, and the introducer of this direction - the president of the Caucasian Logotherapy and Existential Analysis Association (International Association Member), President of the Caucasus-Asia Association of Doulas (Member of the European Association of Doulas, Member of the American Association), the first Georgian doula, founder/director of the recruiting company "Bright Mind", Nino Berdznishvili.

The public lecture will discuss the history, development and position of doulas worldwide and in Georgia, features and aspects of the specialty, benefits for women, research and evidence, rights and duties of women and doulas.
