RTVELI — The Grape Harvest Festival + Workshops and Lunch at the Winery
What is Rtveli? It’s an ancient Georgian tradition of grape harvesting — a celebration when family, friends, and neighbors gather to pick grapes, stomp them with their feet, make churchkhela, sing, dance, and of course, enjoy wine and khachapuri!
We invite you not just on a tour — but to a living Georgian event full of joy, flavor, and tradition.
Along the way, we will visit:
The confluence of two rivers
The Makhuntseti Waterfall
Walk across Queen Tamar’s Bridge
At the winery:
Grape picking and foot stomping
Churchkhela workshop
Adjarian khachapuri workshop
Trying on national costumes
Walk through the vineyards
Lunch with traditional dishes and wine tasting
The port city and Black Sea resort of Batumi is the capital of the Georgian Republic of Adjara. The Batumi Boulevard runs along the seafront, a park, and a beach. The 130-meter-high Alphabet Tower, featuring inscriptions in the Georgian script, houses an observation deck with stunning sea views. In the Old Town, you can see many reconstructed 19th-century buildings. In the northern part of Batumi lies the botanical garden, home to plants from around the world.
