Quand vient l’automne

On January 14 (Wednesday), at the first film club meeting of the year, we’ll be screening
“When Autumn Comes” (Quand vient l’automne) — a new film by François Ozon about family, loneliness, and the attempt to preserve human warmth even in the most difficult circumstances.

About the film:
Michelle is an elderly woman living in a quiet village in Burgundy. She is waiting for her daughter and grandson to visit, but a случайный incident disrupts the family gathering and leads to a serious conflict. Her daughter forbids Michelle from seeing the child, and the familiar world of the heroine begins to collapse.

Against the backdrop of this drama, people from Michelle’s past return, difficult moral choices arise, and questions of responsibility come to the fore. The film gradually unfolds as a story about guilt and forgiveness, the fragility of trust, and whether closeness can be restored once it has been lost.

The film club is hosted by Valeriy Babak — actor and passionate cinephile.
