Set in 1950s New York, the film tells the story of the glamourous and mysterious Carol Aird (Cate Blanchett) , who accidentally meets young and shy photographer, Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara). The two fall in love, but have to pay a high price for that romance, so high that their love might end forever.
