Description

This Thursday, we’ll meet a group of humanitarian clowns and volunteers from the Gesundheit! Institute, a non-profit organization founded by Patch Adams.

Patch Adams is best known as a doctor and clown, but he’s also a social activist who has spent over 40 years working to change the American healthcare system.
He believes that laughter, joy, and creativity are essential parts of healing. In 1971, with the help of friends, he founded the Gesundheit! Institute.

The mission of humanitarian clowns is to ease the suffering of sick children and adults, support healing, and help medical staff reconnect with their own compassion and joy, building stronger human connections — often limited in clinical settings.

During the talk, we’ll discuss hospital clowning, art and play therapy, and you'll have the chance to ask your own questions to the clowns, volunteers, and Patch Adams himself — he’ll join us online!
