Prostitution vs. Sex Work

The sex industry is a painful and complex topic that provokes heated debate. Some believe that women providing sexual services do so voluntarily, while others argue that sex work is a consequence of gender inequality — and that paying for sex is itself a form of violence.

Who shapes public opinion and myths about sex work? How are ideas about prostitution connected to women’s position in society? Where is the line between exploitation and freedom?
