Alvin Straight (his name is as straightforward as the story) learns that his older brother, with whom he hasn't spoken for over 10 years, is seriously ill. Leaving everything behind, the seventy-three-year-old farmer buys a used lawnmower (he doesn't have a driver's license) and sets out on a journey across two states to cover the 350 kilometers separating him from his brother.
Lynch's kindest film and the only one rated G, meaning "recommended for all ages."
