Book Presentation by Nikita Smagin: “Everyone Iran. Paradoxes of Life in an Autocracy Under Sanctions”
In Tbilisi, at the cultural center Auditoria, the first presentation of the book “Everyone Iran” outside of Russia will take place.
Nikita Smagin is a journalist, political analyst, former TASS correspondent in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the author of the Telegram channel “Duty Officer of Iran” . He lived in Iran for several years and wrote this book. It tells the story of a country whose government sees the root of all global evil in the United States and arms itself to the teeth to counter the treacherous external enemies, while brutally persecuting dissenters within its borders and prioritizing religious taboos above family values.
But “Everyone Iran” is also about the people who know where to buy a new iPhone at the best price, attend underground clubs for raves, and always serve expensive tea from a samovar to a guest (yes!).
