“Post-Digital Fatigue: Why Artists Became Disillusioned with Technology” — Lecture & Workshop by Artist Leni Smoragdova
We once believed technology would bring freedom. Instead, we received notifications, algorithms, templates, and the feeling that we have seen everything — yet lived very little.
At this meeting, we will explore how contemporary art responds to digital overload — through glitches, errors, noise, and simple material forms such as paper, archives, the body, and traces.
Theory:
— the path of art from digital euphoria to skepticism;
— why artists use mistakes, failures, and “low” quality aesthetics;
— how art engages with algorithms, control, and AI;
— ways to reclaim authorship in a world of recommendations and templates.
