Paleontology Trip

Departure:
We will leave Batumi between 8 and 9 AM. Along the way, we will enjoy very scenic views. We will make stops to stretch. The drive will take approximately 2.5 hours.

Fossil Hunting:
We arrive at the fossil hunting site (not far from the car) and listen to a detailed lecture about paleontology and the formation of Georgia’s landscape. Then we begin searching for fossils, taking a break for a picnic along the way. We will discuss our first finds! The search will last about 3–4 hours.

Your guide will explain and show you how to search correctly and what to look for. They will also definitely explain what you found and how it ended up in the rock.

Nature:
Part of the search will take place along a beautiful river, where you can dip your feet and enjoy the coolness and the views. If we have some extra time, on the way back we will stop at another river to look for agates.

After that, we return to Batumi. We expect to be back in the city around 9–10 PM.
