Open Screening of the Film “House of Others” (Rusudan Glurjidze, 2016) + Discussion with the Director
The latest film by Georgian director and screenwriter Rusudan Glurjidze, Antique, about the mass deportation of Georgians from Russia in 2006, was featured at the Venice Film Festival and selected as Georgia’s Oscar submission last year.
We thought it would be a great opportunity to meet Rusudan and talk about Georgian cinema.
This Friday, we’ll watch her debut film, the acclaimed drama “House of Others”.
The story follows two families during the war in Georgia in the early 1990s. People settle into homes abandoned by their fleeing owners — but peace proves elusive. The war continues, quietly, in the daily lives of the survivors...
