Once

Last week, Irish musician Glen Hansard — frontman of The Frames, member of the duo The Swell Season and an Academy Award winner — passed away. In 2008, he received the Oscar for the song “Falling Slowly” from the film “Once”.

The film brought recognition to both director John Carney and Hansard, who played the lead role. It is also a very sweet and tender love story whose magic proved powerful enough that, after filming, the two leads, Hansard and Markéta Irglová, actually began dating.
