On February 15, Omar Kabir Quartet will take the stage at Tatuza, featuring one of the renowned jazz drummers — Mark Johnson!
Meet the quartet members:
Omar Kabir — American jazz trumpeter known for his powerful tone and free improvisation. Co-founder of Freedom Art Quartet. He has collaborated with Cecil Taylor, Charlie Haden, and David Murray. The quartet’s latest release reached #36 on the US Jazz Radio Charts in 2025.
Justin Salisbury — Brooklyn-based pianist, composer, and producer, and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. His debut album Evergreen was released in 2022.
Felipe Arce — Argentine-born, New York-based bassist, composer, and bandleader. Founder and principal composer of the Felipe Arce Quintet. His debut album EXPANSION was released on Fresh Sound Records and features Grammy-winning pianist Leo Genovese. He tours internationally and teaches at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music.
Mark Johnson — internationally acclaimed American jazz drummer. He has played drums since childhood and in New York collaborated with Abbey Lincoln, Freddie Hubbard, and Cassandra Wilson. In January, he already performed at Tatuza Jazz Shows and received enthusiastic audience acclaim.
