The development of nude art has evolved in waves. From the times of antiquity to the late 20th century, it underwent completely different transformations. In this lecture, we will explore when and why nude imagery was forbidden and when, on the contrary, it was celebrated.
How has the genre of the nude changed over the centuries, and how do contemporary artists work with it? What can the poses of nudes signify? How is the "cult of the body" manifested in our time?
We will discuss all this and more with our speaker, Pasha Rost — a painter, illustrator, and graduate of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, Faculty of Academic Painting.
