In a remote Estonian village, magic and pagan rituals are a normal part of life for the locals. On All Saints' Day, the deceased return to the sauna to steam themselves and eat black bread. The plague transforms into a pig to make a deal with the humans. And of course, there is a love story: a rural girl named Liina loves her neighbor Hans, but Hans loves the wealthy farm owner's daughter. So Liina decides to seek help from a witch.
In short, "November" is a deeply rooted, earthy underworld. Additionally, the film beautifully captures the spirit of folk culture, both repulsive and enchanting at the same time.
In Estonia, it was recognized as the best film of 2017 and was submitted for an Oscar (but was not nominated).
