Description

“Night Shift: Bats of Georgia”
Guided tour of the photo exhibition with a National Geographic photographer

The Tbilisi Zoo is hosting the photo exhibition “Night Shift”, dedicated to the bats of Georgia.
This unique exhibition presents stunning works by National Geographic photographer Viktor Lyagushkin, created in collaboration with National Geographic explorer and writer Bogdana Vashchenko.

For an entire year, Bogdana and Viktor worked with a research group from Ilia University, observing and photographing bats — these fascinating creatures that are often misunderstood and mistakenly perceived as dangerous.
More than 30 species of bats live in Georgia, meaning that every fourth mammal in the country is a bat!
This highlights their crucial role in the ecosystem of the Caucasus.
