Niaz Diasamidze & 33a – Kutaisi

On March 8, Women’s Day, in Kutaisi — organized by Sparks — a concert by one of the most beloved musicians among Georgian listeners, Niaz Diasamidze & Band 33a, will take place at the Lado Meskhishvili State Drama Theatre.

Niaz Diasamidze excels at many things equally well — beyond writing music and lyrics, he paints, makes wine, crafts traditional instruments, restores furniture, and who knows how many other things.

His music reflects that same diversity — created with knowledge and love for many different styles. It is a unique blend of reggae, rock, folk music, gypsy songs, and what can broadly be described as Tbilisi music — from duduks to Otar Ramishvili. Sometimes, all these elements come together within a single song.

Continuous exploration and creative sincerity have played a key role in the band’s popularity — “33a” has been considered one of Georgia’s leading bands for more than 25 years. It is also important to note that 33a is not just Niaz. Alongside him stand some of the country’s finest musicians, without whom the band’s music would sound entirely different.
