Description

Keti has always dreamed of studying at the Theatre University. However, after being rejected during the entrance exams, her dream seems to slip away.

Determined not to leave the world of theatre behind, she takes a job as a cleaner in a theatre simply to stay close to the stage. One day, while tidying a dressing room, she accidentally discovers William Shakespeare's Hamlet. She begins reading passages aloud, and before long, the words draw her into another world. Slowly, Keti finds herself stepping into the role of Hamlet, transforming imagination into performance.

As the boundaries between reality and theatre begin to disappear, an ordinary dressing room becomes a stage, and everyday life turns into an extraordinary performance. My Hamlet is a moving story about perseverance, the transformative power of art, and the belief that a true calling cannot be silenced by rejection.

Marjanishvili Theatre
Kote Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre is a state theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia. It is one of the oldest and most significant theatres in the country, coming second perhaps only to the national Rustaveli Theatre. The theatre was founded in Kutaisi in 1928 by Kote Marjanishvili. It moved to Tbilisi in 1930 to the former Brothers Zubalashvili philanthropic "Public House", the building it still occupies. The theatre's art nouveau edifice was thoroughly renovated and reopened in 2006 with the premiere of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera. The theatre building was designed by Polish architect Stefan Kryczyński, while its construction was led by another Polish architect Aleksander Rogojski, municipal architect of Tbilisi.
