The film is based on Yuri Kazakov’s short stories «Little Candle» and «You Cried Bitterly in Sleep». Not being a direct adaptation, the film makes a feeling of something more than just the stories plot. They both try to explore the mystery of childhood and the deep connection between parents and children.
