Melancholia

The main film about depression.А mysterious planet called Melancholia hurtling towards Earth. A collision is inevitable, and people are left waiting for their demise. Some fall into a stupor, some try to run away, and some, anticipating the imminent end, resort to impossible actions in the familiar world. At the center of it all is the story of two sisters, who undergo changes in the face of the approaching catastrophe.

"Melancholia" is one of the films in the "depression trilogy," which also includes "Antichrist" and "Nymphomaniac." Lars von Trier directed them while undergoing treatment for severe depression.

  Kirsten Dunst received the Golden Palm Award for her role as Justine.
