About performance

Mana - “What is repaired first, vessel or light” Is the sun’s desire to fulfill the absence of the moon’s light, Or rather is it her lack of light that gives rise to a vessel of innovation?” (based on the Zohar) Vertigo Dance Company's creation "Mana" is a vessel of light; Noa Wertheim seeks to examine the space present in the breath, between inside and outside, between the desire to fly and the desire to return home. And to connect to earth. "Mana" aims to convey its light and contribute to healing. Wertheim brings to the stage a unique spiral movement that gains energetic momentum transforming it into an expression of refinement & self-acceptance that combines a feeling of deficiency with an inspiration to fill & fulfill.

PRESS:

”This dance…created by Noa Wertheim for the Vertigo Dance Company, is flowing like water, like waves of light which in their humbleness do not seek to leave their mark…on the fine line between the physical and the spiritual…this aesthetic piece reflects professionalism as well as the pleasantness of continuity…inspiring the gracious feeling of completing a meditation session…the real gems are the dancers…”

(Ruth Eshel, HaAretz,.)

“The Vertigo Dance Company’s contribution to the Israeli dance scene is great, and its sophisticated creative undertaking constantly evolves over time…”

(Tal Levin, Achbar HaIr,)

“A profound philosophical property…with a great deal of rhythm, playfulness and spirit…extremely unique and fascinating…one of the more powerful dance performances…”

(Lea Solomon Yehoshua, Darom radio)

“Defying the laws of gravity, the Vertigo Dance Company which since its establishment over twenty years ago has produced unparalleled dance pieces premieres a new choreography by Noa Wertheim that brings forth new and old, mystical and tangible…ever so beautiful, magical and breathtaking.”

Location

Marjanishvili Theatre
Kote Marjanishvili State Academic Drama Theatre is a state theatre in Tbilisi, Georgia. It is one of the oldest and most significant theatres in the country, coming second perhaps only to the national Rustaveli Theatre. The theatre was founded in Kutaisi in 1928 by Kote Marjanishvili. It moved to Tbilisi in 1930 to the former Brothers Zubalashvili philanthropic "Public House", the building it still occupies. The theatre's art nouveau edifice was thoroughly renovated and reopened in 2006 with the premiere of Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera. The theatre building was designed by Polish architect Stefan Kryczyński, while its construction was led by another Polish architect Aleksander Rogojski, municipal architect of Tbilisi.
