Description

On April 25 at 19:00, LICHT GALLERY opens “No Animals Were Harmed”, a solo exhibition by Alexander Florensky, curated by the artist himself.

Alexander Florensky (b. 1960, Saint Petersburg) is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, and book illustration. A co-founder of the artist group “Mitki” (1985), he has also initiated key projects including the publishing house “Mitkilibris” and the gallery “Mitki-Vkhutemas”. He is the author of several animated films and a participant and awardee of international animation festivals.

Since the 1990s, Florensky has collaborated with Olga Florensky on large-scale projects, while continuing his own initiatives, including the “Society of Lovers of Painting and Drawing” and the silkscreen studio “B&F”. His works are held in major museum collections worldwide. Since 2022, he has been the curator of LICHT GALLERY and its residency program in Tbilisi. The artist lives and works between Tbilisi and Saint Petersburg.

The exhibition runs from April 25 to May 24.
