On October 11, 2026, the 3rd Nika Emukhvari International Art Competition & Festival, "Let's Understand Each Other," will take place.

The festival honors the memory of Nika Emukhvari and the values that shaped his life and artistic legacy. Its central theme remains unchanged: Abkhazia—our shared pain, collective memory, and hope for the future. We believe that dialogue, culture, and art are the paths that help people better understand one another.

Artists aged 10 and above are invited to participate. The competition welcomes works in painting, graphic art, photography, video art and digital art, installation, sculpture, kinetic art, decorative art, and applied arts.

We invite everyone who wishes to express meaningful ideas through their artwork, share their unique perspective, and use the language of art to help build greater understanding between people.

Nika Emukhvari was an outstanding artist whose work continues to remind us of the importance of listening, mutual respect, freedom, and human dignity. His art reflected a deep love for people, his homeland, and life itself. Today, his name continues to unite those who believe that art has the power to bring together a divided world and inspire a better future.

THE PALACE OF RITUALS

The Palace of Rituals serves not only as an architectural wonder but also as a living theatre where public rituals and events unfold. Its design allows for an interactive experience, guiding visitors through a tapestry of history, tradition, and innovation. Inside, one can see symbols that harken back to architectural elements Butsa was fascinated by, like the apses common in Georgian churches and Russian architecture.
