In the “Auditorium” on March 20 (Wednesday) at 20:00 there will be a lecture “The Middle Ages: the right to orgasm and the history of women’s abbeys” - this is the second lecture from Lika Rodina’s course “The History of Women: from Antiquity to the Present”
Who is a medieval woman: a vessel of sin or an abbess-seer? Both! The Middle Ages lasted a thousand years and were greatly influenced by religion, but they were by no means as dark as we might imagine. In the lecture we will learn:
🥀 What was known about female sexuality?
🥀 How did the nuns live and what did the influential abbess do?
🥀 And which of the Medieval women could do what they wanted?
