How color became the main expressive tool — and what came of it.

Fauvism was a precursor to other innovative movements like Expressionism and Abstractionism. It had a strong influence on avant-garde artists of the former Russian Empire and played a major role in the development of modern art. And Fauvism is not just about Matisse. In this lecture, we’ll also talk about André Derain, Vlaminck, Albert Marquet, and those they inspired. We’ll learn to recognize the signs of artistic movements and their transformations.

And of course, we’ll recharge with color.
