Over the relatively small territory of Georgia, more than 400 bird species have been recorded. For comparison, in Turkey, with its much larger area, there are about 500 species, and in Russia — around 800. What attracts birds to Georgia, and where can you encounter them?
For over three years, biologist and calendar author Nikita Tiunov has been observing Georgian birds — and during this time, he has managed to photograph about half of the species! Some of these photographs are featured in his 2025 bird calendar, which is the reason for this meeting. Come and talk about birds — both Georgian and beyond!
