Description

Mañana Bar, Batumi

Unfortunately, all tickets are sold out.

On May 18, the charismatic and highly respected cultural speaker Artur Chekh will visit sunny Batumi for the first time — and he’s bringing one of his most provocative lectures (a perfect match for the city's vibe):

Art has always reflected life and responded to our core needs. And what are those basic desires? Of course — food, sleep, and sex.

Since ancient times, humans have depicted sexuality in various ways — in a quest to understand both the body and the relationships it enables.

This lecture explores sexual culture through the ages — from prehistoric and archaic societies like Egypt and Greece to the 21st century.
Through masterpieces, you’ll see how sex transformed from a sacred ritual into a language for everything except itself.
And along the way, you’ll discover how much sexuality is hidden in your favorite and most familiar works of art.

Location

Batumi

The port city and Black Sea resort of Batumi is the capital of the Georgian Republic of Adjara. The Batumi Boulevard runs along the seafront, a park, and a beach. The 130-meter-high Alphabet Tower, featuring inscriptions in the Georgian script, houses an observation deck with stunning sea views. In the Old Town, you can see many reconstructed 19th-century buildings. In the northern part of Batumi lies the botanical garden, home to plants from around the world.
