Lecture “Butterflies of Georgia”
We invite you to a lecture by biologist and lepidopterist Valery Petrov посвящённую разнообразию бабочек в Georgia.
Georgia is a unique crossroads of natural zones at the intersection of Europe and Asia. European and Asian species meet here, creating an exceptionally rich fauna. The country covers all altitude zones — from semi-deserts to alpine regions — and this is reflected in butterflies themselves: the same species changes depending on altitude — becoming smaller in the mountains and larger and more vivid in the lowlands.
