A poignant and poetic road movie about two children searching for their long-lost father. A brother and sister travel from Greece to Germany after overhearing a conversation that reveals their father has been living there for many years, having left them and their mother. The children naively believe in the success of their audacious plan, continuing to dream of an impossible reunion.
The screenplay for "Landscape in the Mist" was co-written by Angelopoulos and Tonino Guerra, a great poet and screenwriter who worked with Fellini, Antonioni, and Tarkovsky ("Nostalghia").
Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
