A great film about the (un)readiness of a person to confront their desires.

In search of the truth about themselves, the Writer and the Professor embark on a journey to the mysterious Zone. Somewhere within it, there is a room where only the most intimate desires come true. And it is terrifying. They are accompanied by the Stalker - a person who has taken on the burden and privilege of being a guide for guests of the Zone to their true selves. But not everyone understands that they are merely guests, and the Zone is free to let in or reject anyone it deems necessary.

Some mistakenly consider Stalker an adaptation, but from the source material—the novel «Roadside Picnic» by the Strugatsky brothers—only bits and pieces remain. And it's for the best—this is an entirely independent film that once again proves that sometimes all an artist needs is a slight push from another to give birth to something entirely new.
