Movie Screening "Night on Earth"

Five novellas linked by a common theme: city, night, taxi. Five cities in the world, five chance encounters, and an indescribable combination of humor and sadness familiar to all Jarmusch fans.

Each part takes place over the course of one night in different cities: Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome, and Helsinki. Why these cities? Jarmusch went where the actors he wanted to cast lived. For example, in the "Helsinki" part, the entire Aki Kaurismäki ensemble is filmed by Finland's leading director and a friend of Jarmusch.

The soundtrack for the film was composed and recorded, as always, by Tom Waits, with lyrics for three songs co-written with his wife Kathleen Brennan.
