On August 31st, KIBE celebrates it’s 6th year anniversary, welcoming Philippa Pacho, Stockholm-born and Berlin-based DJ, blending several strains of techno that spark a range of emotions and energies on the dance floor. Alongside her career as a DJ, Philippa also co-runs the ‘positivesource’ imprint with UK-born artist Blue Hour. Following over a decade of exploring techno and navigating a competitive landscape, Philippa has already laid the foundation for a promising future with many more years to come. Joining her is DJ TOOL, enraptured by the raw essence of DJing, TOOL honed his style as part of Copenhagen’s Fast Forward collective, boasting an apodictic vinyl dexterity that quickly earned him international renown. As a co-founder of Mala Junta, TOOL’s assiduous efforts to politicise nightlife and re-contextualise trance within the queer underground has led to multiple collaborations with Berghain, as well as activist DIY collectives worldwide. Also on the lineup is Sophie Phare, a Bassiani resident and one of the standout names in Georgia’s electronic music scene. Full of diversity, melodies, and luscious vocal samples, Sophie’s mixes are a testament to the essence of dance music. Completing the lineup is a local DJ and vinyl devotee, KIBE resident Comethisfar, who aims to reinterpret various styles of the genre for the modern era. Drawing inspiration from contemporary innovators, he seeks to infuse classic techno with a fresh perspective, ensuring its relevance for the future.
