One of the most important texts of the 20th century has not lost its relevance today and comes to life in a new interpretation on the stage of the Poti Theatre. It is the story of one man and an entire country. While the enemy never sleeps and, since ancient times, has turned Georgian land into a crossroads and a passageway, Teimuraz Khevistavi remains in a state of slumber. Hotel rooms fill with arriving guests, while the host appears blind and deaf—unable to see, hear, or speak. The ancestral estate of the Khevistavi family has been transformed into a well-appointed hotel now serving visitors.
The performance addresses looming dangers and the great challenges faced by a small country.
If you’d like, I can also add a brief reference line to the original author — Mikheil Javakhishvili — or adapt the text for an афиша / festival catalogue.
