Description
At the new meeting of the history club, we will talk about how the constant vendetta between the clans led to attempts to copy the stable political system of Venice. And when this failed, it led to the world's first separation of economics from politics in a single city - but the result was unlikely to please institutionalists. The result is a standard illustration of Marx’s ideas about exploitation, base and superstructure.
The meeting will be moderated by historian Mikhail Arnautov.
