In Search of Primroses. On the Way to the Kabeni Waterfalls — Excursion & Hiking with a Biologist
This year spring arrived early and unexpectedly — perhaps even without giji marti (“the crazy March”). It’s the perfect time to go looking for primroses! These timeless symbols of spring are already awakening, and together with biologist Alexey Sivukhin we will set out to find them.
Our route includes visits to Kojori Fortress and the Kabeni Monastery. Most of the hike will pass through a forest filled with fresh spring scenery.
We will explore two Kabeni waterfalls and check whether the freshwater crab that lives there has emerged from its winter shelter. Expect beautiful views, the Asuretistskali gorge, blooming spring plants, soft greenery, and, as always, new encounters with Georgian wildlife.
