Architecture not only constantly surrounds us — it shapes the environment we live in. Moreover, it is a style-forming art that subtly reflects the spirit of the times — national, political, ideological, social, cultural, utilitarian, religious, and other aspects of society.
The language of architecture is more abstract than that of literature, painting, or even music.
We don’t learn to "read" architecture in school — its theory is usually explored only in specialized universities.
In this course, we will try to understand what architecture actually is, the forms it takes, the principles it follows, and how it evolves, transforms, and adapts to different needs.
We’ll explore how architecture interacts with people and space, how it “speaks” to us — and what it can tell.
