Description

We’ve already conquered so many heights around Tbilisi: Mtatsminda, Ortachala, Turtle Lake, Gldani, Nutsubidze, and more. The circle is almost complete — just a few locations left, and we’ll be able to draw a full ring around the city. Time to expand the list and set off for new adventures!

We are heading to explore a route full of exciting locations: mysterious and unexplored objects, ravines, pine forest, abandoned railway tracks, a church, tunnels, a hilltop picnic, a hot signature lunch, tea and coffee from the chef — and, as a special bonus, sunset at another, lesser-known lake of Tbilisi.

Friends, this time I decided to slightly change the format of our urban hike and add many pleasant bonuses for you. This involves additional expenses, so I had to introduce a fixed participation fee to at least partially cover the costs, as unfortunately donations are quite rare. I sincerely hope for your understanding and support. Thank you!

Location

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
