Description

On October 30, SPARKS presents a concert by Georgian Voices, one of the most distinguished ensembles in Georgian musical culture, at the Main Hall of the Georgian Film Academy. The evening will open with DJ DICHO.

The Georgian Voices ensemble holds a special place in Georgia's musical heritage, having made a significant contribution to preserving and promoting Georgian polyphony, traditional folk songs, and the country's national performance traditions.

The ensemble's artistry is rooted in a profound understanding of Georgian musical heritage, exceptional professional skill, and the unique spiritual atmosphere that gives Georgian singing its distinctive character.

Every performance carries remarkable emotional depth. The harmony of their voices and refined stage presence create a powerful sense of national identity, reminding audiences of the spiritual strength of Georgian song. Their repertoire reflects a deep respect for tradition, sophisticated musical taste, and an ability to connect with contemporary listeners.

Georgian Voices embodies a profound appreciation for national culture, musical excellence, and artistic responsibility. Their repertoire brings together traditional folk music, urban songs, and popular compositions, allowing the ensemble to showcase the richness and diversity of Georgian music in a way that is both authentic and appealing to modern audiences.

The ensemble is distinguished by its harmonious blend of voices, emotional expressiveness, and outstanding performance standards. Each appearance is more than a musical performance — it is an artistic expression of Georgian identity, tradition, and national spirit.

Over the years, Georgian Voices has become one of the most respected representatives of Georgian song and a cultural ambassador for the country.

Location

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
