Description

In the middle of the 20th century, a topic forgotten for several hundred years became the main reason for the split in the key ideology of our time. “A Theory of Justice” was the title of one of the main works on political theory by John Rawls. At the same time and at the same university, reinterpreting Kant, his work “The State. Anarchy. Utopia,” writes Robert Nozick, giving rise to the right-wing interpretation of liberalism and, as some believe, libertarianism. We'll be hosting a meeting on Sunday in our space where we'll discuss both authors' arguments, look at their conclusions about just community organizing, and talk about how the same philosophical framework could lead them to such different conclusions. The meeting will be moderated by political scientist Sergei Atabegashvili.
