At the Sunday lecture, we will explore the major art movements of the 18th–19th centuries: Classicism, Romanticism, Academic art, and Realism.
We will learn to understand and distinguish these styles through the works of leading French artists. We will get acquainted with the art of Delacroix, Géricault, and Courbet. We will see what influenced them and what they learned from their predecessors — those who would go on to revolutionize art in the 1860s–1870s.
The lecture will be given by Vadim Nasledov, PhD in History, teacher, and lecturer.
