FOLK OF JAPAN: LIVE WITH HIKARI HONDA

On October 2, Auditoria welcomes Japanese folk musician and singer-songwriter Hikari Honda.

The concert will feature Japanese contemporary folk music from the 1970s–1990s, Hikari's original songs, and beloved melodies from Studio Ghibli films.

Hikari grew up on the island of Kyushu. Before pursuing music full-time, he spent eight years working as a journalist for NHK, Japan's national public broadcaster. During the pandemic, he left journalism to dedicate himself to music. Since then, he has performed in Canada, Georgia, Germany, Austria, and several other countries.

His songs explore memory, everyday life, and human connection with remarkable simplicity, sincerity, and warmth.
