Noble, charming, and fantastic Mr. Fox shamelessly uses his cunning tricks and resourcefulness to outsmart the narrow-minded farmers who are tired of sharing their chickens with the cunning beasts.
This is a stop-motion animated film by Wes Anderson, based on the book of the same name by Roald Dahl. It is Anderson's first animated film and ranks 15th on the list of highest-grossing stop-motion animated films.
The main characters are voiced by George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, and Willem Dafoe. The director decided to record the voices not in a studio but in a natural environment: «We would go into the woods, climb up to the attic, go to the stable. For some recordings, we went underground. The voice work was done very spontaneously». Anderson told the set designers that they should use real trees and sand, but in miniature. The film combines several types of animation, but stop-motion animation is at its core.
