Description

We will talk about the city's location, its central administrative and historical districts (Old Town, Sololaki, Mtatsminda, Chugureti), and the secrets hidden behind Tbilisi's grand entrances.

We will start with the grand entrance of the Seylanov brothers and the grand entrance of Evelina Ter-Akopova on Tabidze Street, walk to Asatiani Street and the famous "Hogwarts School," and continue up Asatiani Street, learning about the lives of the people who once lived there.
We’ll visit the grand entrance of Kalantarov in the pseudo-Moorish style and discuss the legends associated with it.
Admire the beautiful wrought-iron staircase in the grand entrance on Kikodze Street.
We'll descend to the Old Town quarter, where we will talk about the restoration of old houses and grand entrances.
We’ll enter a grand entrance with a greeting in Armenian, not far from Gudiashvili Square.
Next, we will head up to the Rock Quarter, where we can enjoy the view of Sololaki.
We will take a look at the cozy courtyard of Café Frida, which has become a sort of emblem of the city.
The tour will end at the "kaleidoscope" grand entrance and Jerusalem Square.

In addition to the planned itinerary, if we’re lucky, we may pop into a couple of other grand entrances along the way, which are occasionally closed. The guide will also share the location of an impressive grand entrance in another part of the city, where a café is located. You can visit it on your own to take photos and enjoy the elusive beauty of antiquity.

Location

Tbilisi
Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people. Tbilisi was founded in the fifth century AD by Vakhtang I of Iberia, and since then has served as the capital of various Georgian kingdoms and republics. Because of its location at the crossroads between Europe and Asia, and its proximity to the lucrative Silk Road, throughout history, Tbilisi has been a point of contention among various global powers. To this day, the city's location ensures its position as an important transit route for energy and trade projects. Tbilisi's history is reflected in its architecture, which is a mix of medieval, neoclassical, Beaux Arts, Art Nouveau, Stalinist, and Modern structures. Historically, Tbilisi has been home to people of multiple cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, though its population is overwhelmingly Eastern Orthodox Christian.
