Off to the Mountains! BBQ + Fortress Adventure in Kvemo Kartli

We’re going for a day of grilled food, medieval legends, and mountain air in the iconic Kvemo Kartli region!

 We’ll buy meat, veggies, and lots of delicious snacks!
(Optional: marinated pork in the most popular style — tasty, plentiful, and filling — +20₾)

 We’re bringing 2 hammocks, badminton, a volleyball, frisbee, and more — to play, relax, and make new friends.

 Picnic by the Mashavera mountain river

 Kvemo Kartli is a unique region known for its ancient relics — including the earliest Europeans and the oldest qvevri ever discovered!

 On the way, we’ll look for blooming poppy fields

 Hike (~1 km uphill, elevation gain ~250 m) to the Monastery of Saints Peter and Paul on Mount Elia (820 m above sea level) — epic views, fascinating architecture, and legendary vineyards with no analogues in Georgia

 Visit Kveshi Fortress, once home to Georgia’s first Muslim king (1569–1578) — you can explore the ruins and dive into real medieval vibes!

Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Kura River with a population of around 1.2 million people.
