Debate Club

We’re launching a Debate Club together with RockTheDebate.

Debates are a powerful way to train critical thinking, quick reactions, and the ability to build strong arguments. The goal here is not to find the “right” answer — it’s about defending your position consistently, listening to your opponent, and building a convincing line of reasoning under pressure.

💭 What participants can expect:

• a controversial topic;
• randomly assigned positions;
• limited preparation time;
• the challenge of convincing the judge that your side won the round.

Sometimes you’ll have to defend ideas you personally disagree with — and that’s one of the most fascinating parts of the format.

The session will be led by Alexander Bertov — a coach at RockTheDebate, a Eurasian Debate Championship semifinalist, and a judge at major debate tournaments.

After the debate, we’ll break down the round together: analyzing which arguments worked best, where teams lost their logic, and what truly makes a speech powerful.

If you’ve never participated in debates before — that’s absolutely fine. Before we begin, we’ll briefly explain the rules and format, and if needed, teams will be formed on the spot.
