On August 11, Tropicos Batumi invites Amsterdam’s finest duo - Dam Swindle.

Since breaking through in 2011, Dutch duo Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets—collectively known as Dam Swindle—have earned global acclaim for their widescreen approach to club music. Rooted in house but nourished by disco, tech, soul, and global grooves, their sound has steadily evolved from early dancefloor classics like “The Wrap Around” to their 2024 summer festival anthem “Allright – just a tribute.” This versatility peaks on their album Open, which stretches from ambient electronica to synthwave alongside high-profile collaborators like Joep Beving and Haile Supreme.

Beyond their own productions, which include high-demand remixes for icons like Pat Thomas and Kerri Chandler, the duo champions the underground scene through their label, Heist Recordings. Launched in 2013 and visually defined by artist Bas Koopmans, Heist operates as a creative incubator and a tight-knit family, famous for its unique annual Roundup EP and contributions from heavyweights like DJ Sneak and Matthew Herbert. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, Dam Swindle’s identity as avid record collectors shines through in their dynamic DJ sets—seamlessly blending soulful techno, acid, breaks, and disco with an irresistible charm that has made them a true stamp of authority in the dance music world.
