“What Is Folklore?” — the first lecture in the series “Georgian Traditional Music”

In this lecture, we will explore folklore as “the wisdom of the people” and its main domains:
folk music, traditional cuisine, folk medicine, traditional clothing, oral literature, folk martial arts, traditional weapon-making, instrument crafting, ceramic art, jewelry-making, folk games, and more.

We will also discuss the key characteristics of folklore: anonymity, oral tradition, collectiveness, improvisation, variation, authenticity, social function, and so on.
