Description

Children’s Day Camp: “The Wonders of Bionics. Robotics and Biology”

Does your child love robots and modern technology? Or animals and the natural world? Or perhaps both? Then this camp session is designed especially for them.

Over five exciting days, participants will discover the fascinating world of bionics, where technology takes inspiration from nature. Robotic bats, goats capable of producing spider silk, geckos that inspired new climbing technologies, and drilling machines modeled after living organisms are just a few real-world examples of how studying nature helps engineers create the technologies of the future.

Together with biologist Alexey Sivukhin, children will explore amazing animals and learn which features of their anatomy and behavior have inspired scientists and engineers. They will discover how animals move, navigate, protect themselves, and interact with their environment, then apply these principles to their own engineering ideas.

Working alongside instructors from the Kibertr0n Robotics and Programming Club, participants will recreate natural mechanisms using LEGO WeDo 2.0 kits, program their creations, and bring them to life.

During the camp, children will:
• Learn the basics of engineering and design thinking
• Explore how mechanisms work
• Work with SmartHub controllers, motors, and sensors
• Take their first steps in programming
• Build and program their own robotic models inspired by nature
